For the fifth consecutive year, the U.S. is seeing its largest economical boom since the end of the last World War-- the tallies are in, and the green vote is cast: war is great for business, but not so much for peace. Intelligence is sexy, especially for those in power, and the label might read drink responsibly, but who's counting?

The Hive Agency is a broker between those ideals, or at least, it's supposed to be-- what was once an agency dedicated to peace now finds itself pulled thin between outside loyalties, tough negotiations, and strange signals from the sky. Now, more than ever, tensions are high on the global scale: the commander, Queen Bee, is sending everyone on missions to aid the Space Race, and to thwart the trajectory of nuclear war. That's one atomic winter a bee won't survive. And that's if you make it out of the Hive, first. Mounting stress has highlighted the cracks in the bureaucracy of promotions at the agency, shining a bright light on a little known fact: drones don't retire, they just die. They call it a honeymoon phase for a reason-- and when you've been making honey all your life, you don't exactly notice when you're drowning in it.

World-ending danger and some hurt feelings are nothing new. It comes with the territory of super-agents, but for the first time, The Hive is treading unfamiliar ground: The Agency is changing. One way or another, everyone feels it, but no one can put a finger on it either. All Agents have unexpectedly been called to a remote HQ, and everyone is on edge..more so than they were before. When secrets come to light, one shocking meeting won't sting nearly as bad as what's been hiding in plain sight.

The fate of civilized society rests in the hands of a group of people with extraordinary talents: The Hive. Hidden safely behind aliases and sworn to secrecy, their operations will change the course of war, economy, and human advancement-- but not without consequence. Behind the curtain, there are those who conspire solely to profit from corruption and world domination: Their arch nemesis, Calendar Corp.  But with any luck, Calendar's days are numbered!

Operating for the greater good, The Hive is an agency unafraid to blur the lines and get its hands dirty. Their tactics are often wild and unconventional—a chaotic approach that constantly frustrates Calendar Agents. This very unpredictability is their greatest strategic advantage, making them an elusive and maddeningly difficult target to pin down.

Working every day of the week to unravel society from its seams is the organization known as Calendar Corp. They’ve opted to operate more in the public eye than The Hive has, which gives them the press advantage, and allows them to maneuver more easily to bend others to their will; The Hive has worked against them for years, and will continue to fight them and all they stand for.

Publicly, Calendar Corp. maintains a respectable front as a global disaster relief charity. In sharp contrast to The Hive, their agents are strictly suits and ties, perhaps coming off as a bit stuffy. This polished exterior, however, perfectly reflects their operational style: meticulous, cunning, and incredibly precise on the field. They embody all the dull energy of a corporation, true, but their work is always executed with ruthless speed and elegance.

Occasionally, The Hive works with well connected, if shady individuals out of necessity. A few of our Hive Agents have regular contact with representatives from The Thieves Guild, ARK, and Ouro. Working with these characters and their specialty trades often come at high risk, but always promise high reward.

Agents should just be sure they can cover the cost of that information.
